INCREDIBLE!!!
Gag orders and sentimental gestures aside (for those of you who've been following comments in the last few Beat-Ape1 posts)
...I'm about to write something that will cause many to doubt my listening senses, but here it is:
"This release should have been titled "The Blueprint Starter For Beatmakers."
One listen to the styles upon styles in this release, it is evident that this guy is versatile and has a broad liking of all sorts of music. But the fundamental thing is how he took a little of this and a little of that without over-doing it or not doing enough.
I will be the first to admit that I am a headnod connoisseur and pay homage to those FIRE TRACKS that have a soulful and essential groove element within them.
HOWEVER, many of the tracks in this release have those elements and a little something else. All done with simplicity. No extra bells and whistles were needed and this guy realized that.
No matter the technique or the skill level, either you have it or you don't. ...And that my friend is THE FUNK. Show me a true hip hop beat blueprint and I bet you that the funk lies within somewhere.
So, if you can't find the INCREDIBLE in this release, you need to learn about the funk to truly understand and appreciate this one.
This release is INCREDIBLE and a must have. I repeat, THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!
Quite helpful material, thank you for this post.
