Oh Yeah This Is Pretty Urgent:
Someone NEEDS to hook me up with the instrumental for The Perceptionist's "Breathe In The Sun". In my opinion, it was one of the only good tracks on their cd, and the beat is beyond good. After hearing the original sample (although I forget what it was off the top of my head) there's an incredible chop and sample use. Produced by Willie Evans Jr., I need this in my life. We here at strictlybeats do our best to provide you with anything requested, and it's rare we request ourselves. Someone help me out :)

/Rant Alert/And on a side note, I saw a blog today that made me pretty frustrated. How immature do you have to be to make a blog making fun of someone else? The folks over at HHB do a good job and deserve the credit for showing people new, undiscovered, and even some well-known appreciated music. The people at rhhb need to grow up. Seriously. That is all from me.

Carry on, and be on the lookout for the request. Enjoy the music everyone.

Flying Lotus - July Heat

Hey, sorry for the lack of posts lately. Between making beats, God Of War II, and my final weeks of college (I'll have a B.S. in some BS), I've been busy; so busy in fact, that the following compilation is 3 rapidshare links as opposed to sharebee ones. I'll edit them in when I up em.

Dynamite Deluxe - Deluxe Beats (2000)

The trio from Hamburg Germany dropped their fantastically successful debut album "Deluxe Soundsystem" in 2000, after causing a lot of ruckus with their demos and various guest spots by their MC Samy Deluxe, famous for his battle-style raps and fondness of weed. Later, DJ Dynamite left the group and may be familiar to some of you as Joni Rewind whose great album "Welcome to the world" featured nuff cats from the UK, Jamaican and American scene. Samy Deluxe kept making albums with Tropf, the producer.

This instrumental album consists mainly of beats used on the first album and I've added the titles of the tracks they ended up on in brackets whenever I was able to make them out.

This joint is pretty hard to get, btw.

Jehst - Falling Down (2003)

The king of understatement, Jehst, aka Billy Brimstone. MC, producer, founder of the Young'n'Restless (YNR) label. His rap style is the kind that sounds so effortlessly offhanded, you'd first think it's not that special, really. But if you listen more closely... Tight from start to finish.

But this is the instro version. Production by Jehst himself, Lewis Parker, LG and some more. A killer in its own right.

Black Milk - Broken Wax (Instrumentals)

Aight, for those still sleeping, Black Milk is this ill producer/rapper outta Detroit. He's half of BR Gunna, who did most of the post-Dilla Slum Village tracks. And while a bit much, the Dilla comparisons are not unwarranted.

Today, his debut album Popular Demand leaked on the net (it's dope, buy it), along with a bonus instrumentals disc. There were some tracks with rapping on them, so I took them off.

1. Broken Wax (Instrumental) (1:07)
2. Pressure (Instrumental) (2:44)
3. U's A Freak Bitch (Instrumental) (2:57)
4. Danger (Instrumental) (3:35)
5. Sound Of The City (Instrumental) (3:41)
6. Outro (Instrumental) (1:16)
