BMB's transition from soul beats to...what I can best describe as...some kind of glittery, robot porn music...has been profitable, I'm sure...but disappointing for underground heads checking for that real ish out of Russia. Foner is headed down a similar path.
Yeah man, I agree. I used to cop all his releases with no doubt until a few questionable releases. I nwo have to listen fully before considering. I was definitely into the older stuff more.
I don't mind the synth stuff, as long as it's done right. But yeah, this shit was disappointing. It seems like these guys dumb their music down for pussy and $$$. That head nod shit doesn't work at shows and festivals. I feel the same about Flying Lotus. Not a fan of his new sound, but I keep giving his current stuff a listen because of his past genius. DZA was also a favorite of mine who seems to be following BMB into this dance sound. I'm all for growth, but this is more about these guys trying to make a living off their music, than it is artistic growth.

Thank you all for your comments and opinions.
I'm feeling it. He recreated the 80's R&B sound. Somebody is going to sample this album and chop it crazily.
I blame Soulection.
Where the 'soul' is lost. jk jk, kinda :)
