A.M. Architect - Adaptation

Brand new (free) release of old material, created prior to "The Road to the Sun". If you're unfamiliar with A.M. Architect, I'd definitely recommend starting with "The Road to the Sun". If you already know, then this is an essential supplement.

My strong bias in Downtempo is towards the genre of sample-based instrumentals that Shadow effectively defined. That being said, A.M. Architect is one of those few exceptions that crafted a sound so consistent, coherent and refined that it's hard to pick a favorite joint from the album despite being on repeat for over a year. The first few listens, tracks might sound a bit too similar but once you start to appreciate the vibe you can't help but admire the intricacy of the production...highly recommended.

Sorry. Adaption has not adapted. At least not yet. this sounds like experimentation "experimentation. Hope you get that.

Somewhat like knowing how to drive but really needing to get behind the wheel to actually learn how to drive.

Kudos for the effort, but this is not downtempo in it's purest "head nodding" or "chilled state of mind" form. This is all over the place and stuck in a maze with no place to go.

Thanks for the effort, but please try again. (or get back in the lane you are use to mastering)

i appreciate the abstract critique, but i think you overlooked the point of the post (and probably the EP).

"adaptation" is best viewed as supplementary to "the road to the sun"; your comments are probably fair for "adaptation", but not the full album. i wouldn't recommend "adaption" to anyone who's not already a fan of the album, as it's material that was recorded previous to it which speaks for itself. my impression of a.m. architect's style was based on "the road to the sun".

Understood!!!

However, please keep in mind that comments were (and always are) directed at the producers of the releases.

I APPRECIATE everyone at "STRICTLY BEATS" who put in much effort to bring us instrumental music and beats that many of us would have never discovered on our own. But yes, thanks for the clarification.

no worries, "the road to the sun" is one of the few albums i'm eager to advocate (and quick to defend) -- you know how it is.

i do see how you could find "adaptation" frustrating taken on its own merits, especially if you prefer sample/break-based production (although i'm happy with it personally).
