Lost In The Shuffle. . .

Alot of these guys are really getting lost in the shuffle, much like talented emcee's, the production ends are all DIY nowadays, so everyones who's ever wanted to claim "producer" can now do so, thus leaving over-saturation and a lot of artists who will have to work just 'that much' harder to get heard in this day and age. Regardless, blogs/websites/live events can bring some light to those in the darkness.

I'm busy as hell with my 'new project" so i've not really been as active (mainly because I like to listen completely through something before I decide to post it). Buuut check it:

This selection of loops & edits are taken from the old record collection of Stevendepeven's old neighbour Jan Beckman (R.I.P) He was a big dixie, blues & jazzlover/collector and died on the age of 85 because of the deadly motherf*cker called cancer. However this bad ending, Jan had an amazing beautifull life.
Just before he died he invited Steven for digging in his crates and donated the chosen pieces to him. And so decided Steven to go deeper in this selection. He started to loop and edit the songs he discovered on the wax. A selection was ready...but not without the spirit of close friend & partner in crime DJ Aardvarck. The pig tuned in and dropped the final injection of loops into the area of this dusty deep collection.
This mix is an raw piece, not focused on skills and orders. Just food for all the listeners and original breaks for beatmakers. find the right piece and get inspired to create new music. Which is the true purpose of Jazz.

Album Concept: I got the idea to do this project from watching a few custom-made bumps on youtube. I always notice that the beat were either dope as hell or not my taste at all. So I decided to switch up a project I was on to do this. The idea behind this was to make chill and slightly different beats. Since Stones Throw supplies the music for Adult Swim I tried to not mimic Dilla or Madlib and have fun while doing so. I got the idea to put pictures to the beats to make the project even more like Adult Swim. Hopefully the people at Adult Swim hear this and post it. Hope that you enjoy the album and again this me doing beats that I'd like to see on Adult Swim not trying to imitate Flying Lotus, Nujabes or anyone who has music that plays on Adult Swim.
