Phontigga carrying more tunes, can I assume he done got soft? Seriously though, 3 rap verses the whole release? I don't mind the singing, but that's what Darien and Yahzarah are for. I want rapping dammit.

Mini-review out the way, here's Nicolay's contribution, vocal free.

enjoy

@ i dunno, I agree man I was expecting some ill flows but heard singing instead. Weak...and I was a fan of Phonte but this is a real let-down. Thanks for the upload though :P

I thought it was dope; artists need room to voyage in uncharted areas. When it came to rap he felt the need to "Leave It All Behind". The only thing that sucks is we may not get another F/E album for a long time

thanks for bootlegging this disc before the street date jerk

I felt the same way about him singing on the whole damn LP. I wanted to hear more rapping. Don't get me wrong, the album was good. I just wasn't expecting that from dude.

@ anon #2, they had the album on iTunes since the 6th. The instrumentals leaked before CDs shipped, but that's apparently how the internet works now.

@ anon #1, see annon #3's post.

Adding to that, Phonte can hold a note and do harmonies, but he got better singers throughout the LP. He leaned on a buncha guests for the first album, but 'te was still the best rapper on there.

LOL @ people being let down because Phonte didn't rap through out the whole album.

Some should of read up on the release. Te' and Nicolay didn't want to create a Connected 2. That was a different time and place. There is some great material on this album throughout.

I liked it... I like the way Phonte is evolving from a good rapper to an even better R&B singer. I like Phonte's style of R&B, and this album is going to give him experience so that he will be able to do some crazy choruses in the future. Phonte is just evolving as an artist and this is a glimpse of him doing that.

the main reason 'artists' do music is to push themselves and the proverbial envelope. If any of you all have been keeping up with FE and Phonte as an 'artist' you would be well aware of his foray into singing. Not the greatest singer but knows his limits and performs within those parameters. That being said..enjoy the music for what it is!!!

I don't think anyone is "complaining" too hard on Te being more rounded in music as a whole. I just think some people were expecting more rap out of him, and less singing. Even the people that were surprised by the R&B showdown still said it was a good LP. It's all love. I guess rapping was one of the things he left behind in this project.

I think that it is great that Phontigga can hold down dual positions...he has always been a dope artist...regardless of rapping or singing

who cares if phonte raps or sings anyone gonna speak about the instrumentals? (this is the instrumental version isn't it?)
